About Launa
Launa Sorensen began writing in the 2nd grade and, by age 13, had finished her first book, The King's First Journey. By 16 she had finished the first three books in the Areane Journals and started looking for a publisher. After many responses along the lines of "Great stories, write back when you can sign a contract without your parents," she self-published and hand-sold copies at local bookstores. At 17 years old, she attracted her first publisher, Orchard House Press.
Now 23, Launa has finished 11 books and a number of short stories in various genres, from teen fantasy to adult science fiction and is beginning exploration in comic books and graphic short stories.
Launa is also an avid classic art lover as well as comic lover and converted that love into her own sketches and paintings.
Launa lives in the Pacific Northwest. She works to support causes such as Autism Awareness, Diabetes Awareness, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Teen and Female Empowerment and Domestic Abuse Awareness.
